Stunning Sculptures Made from Discarded CD Fragments

Australian writer, illustrator, and artist Sean E. Avery has created a collection of interesting mixed media sculptures of animals and insects, using shattered CD fragments arranged to form the illusion of fur and feathers. The reflective media gives an iridescent sheen to the modern art, resulting in silvery-blue rodent coats, and bird forms showing the meticulously layered pieces transformed into oily rainbows over flourishes of tail feather and wing.

Avery describes: "The nature of my sculpture practice ensures that each piece will be completely unique. I blend many different man made materials together to make them appear strangely organic, with a distinct sense of movement. I only use recycled materials to create my sculptures, which classifies my work as

Sean has won many local awards as a sculptor in Western Australia, and Ripley's Believe it or Not have recently purchased sculptures for display in their Baltimore and Hollywood museums.
